Texas Through Time

Hillsboro, Texas

In Hillsboro, view prehistoric fossils such as reptiles, amphibians, sharks, ammonites, dinosaurs, mammals and petrified wood. Located between DFW and Waco, this free museum is a great place to stop to view fossils from Texas and beyond.   Texas Through Time also facilitates the preservation and reconstruction of fossils.

Texas Through Time inspires future paleontologists with a variety of kid-friendly hands-on exhibits.   Guided museum tours and storytime sessions provide educational opportunities. Lab tours go behind-the-scenes to watch fossils being prepared.   Grab a fossil dig box to excavate and keep your own fossil!

Stop by the museum gift shop with books, fossils and minerals available for purchase.

Check out their classes for adults and children and host guest lectures.  Inquire about field trips and other special events such as Halloween and Christmas.
