Special needs: Art is a wonderful way for super kids to connect brain to hand and get creative. Surround them with nature, give them colored pencils or watercolors, and stand back and watch them soar. Nature and art are both proven to reduce anxiety and depression and works on fine motor skills.
Know before you go:
Bring a blanket or Monkey Mat to sit on and stretch out. It helps to avoid bugs too!
Bring sunscreen, insect repellant, snacks and water.
Watercolors require special paper and of course water. Bring your own or and a little bowl to dip brushes in. Bring a cloth to wipe brushes clean.

Enjoy bonding with your child and do nature art and journaling with them!
Don’t say “I’m not good at art” since that sets high expectations for kids that their art is supposed to look a certain way to be good. Art is art, there is no right or wrong.
